PUBLIC Craft Brewing Co. – Kenosha, WI

I’ve recently become more intrigued by breweries.  So, when my husband and I were visiting Kenosha, we were really excited to go to PUBLIC Craft Brewing Co.  If you are someone who needs to be watching sports or news on TV while enjoying your beer, then this is NOT the place for you.  There are NO TVs!  I’m not going to lie… I wasn’t sure at first how I’d like that, but it was great!

ACTUAL conversations happen without all the distractions!   We started off with the K-Town Brown (Brown Ale), and Gratzer (Smoked Wheat Beer).  Both of these were good, but my favorite of the two was the K-Town Brown.

It took me a minute to settle into the environment since I’m so used to being surrounded by blaring TVs, or all the other crazy hustle and bustle of daily life in a totally “plugged in” world.  I made my way up front and took a nice long look at all the board games and picked out the game “Up Words” to play.  We couldn’t find the directions, and forgot how to play so we just made up the rules as we went along.  That made things even more entertaining!

Next, we got another round and this time tried The Tober Fest (Marzen), and the Public Hefeweizen (Hefeweizen) which were delicious too.  Then we decided to give the shuffle board game a go.

This was my first time playing shuffleboard like this before, and it was so much fun!  I discovered my husbands hidden talent at the game, and that I am pretty awful at it (similar to my bowling skills… or lack there of!).  I attributed my struggles with the game to my “shuffle board elbow”  hahahaha, that’s a thing, right?!  Joking.  We had such a great time playing that game, and could have stayed at PUBLIC all night.  Honestly this was the hardest place for us to leave while we were in Kenosha!  The atmosphere was so chill, and we had such a relaxing evening hanging out without all the chaos that commonly comes with outings like this.

Of the four beers we tried, surprisingly both my husband and I liked The Tober Fest the best!

Although we really didn’t want to leave, as they say: all good things must come to an end.  Plus, who knows?  With how awesome everything had been so far on our visit to Kenosha, we wouldn’t want to miss out on the next thing!  Before we left, we made sure to buy some cans of The Tober Fest to enjoy later on after our trip was over.
