Blackwater River – Northwest FL
While visiting the Pensacola area a few years ago, we heard about Blackwater Canoe Rental in Milton, FL. It sounded like a fun time, so we decided to give the tube rental a try.

It was so relaxing floating down the river. Very beautiful surroundings, and some nice beach spots if you wanted to stop off for a bit. We leisurely floated without any beach stops, and I think we were on the river for roughly 3 hours.
I loved it, and would definitely go back! And next time… probably use a higher spf sunscreen since I pretty much stayed sitting in the tube the whole time instead of rotating. If I recall correctly I had a pretty funny tan line afterwards.

It was definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon. I’m not sure if there are any areas nearby to see manatees.
