Below is a basic packing list which can be tailored based on season, type, and length of the trip. Hopefully this will be helpful for both those who plan ahead, and fellow procrastipackers :) Let me know if there’s something I’m forgetting or should add.
But first: A CRUISE SPECIFIC PACKING LIST!!
The list below has 3 columns where you can make checkmarks or notes to make sure everything ends up packed. When I pack, usually I’ll grab the items I know I need and set them near my bag. Those items can be checked off on the “have” column. I almost always end up needing to go shopping to get a few items, so those can be marked in the “need” column. Finally, when you’re ready to fill your bag, check off the items in the “packed” column so nothing is left behind!
Lately I’ve been winging it with packing with the thoughts that if I forgot something it probably wasn’t something I needed that bad… and if it was, there’s usually a store nearby to pick another up. Though this works most of the time, some instances require more involved packing and you don’t have access to stores. Also… you can end up wasting a lot of money buying things you already have which is always frustrating.
