While researching what to do in Shawano County, Wisconsin, there were a lot of things that caught my eye. A day trip would be a lot of fun, but there was enough I wanted to check out that I booked a night at a the Shawano Four Seasons Resort and explored Shawano County for two days!
Here’s a peek at my room, which was a King Suite. It was quite spacious, and cozy at night with a remote-controlled fireplace! The fireplace was amazing to come back to after a bitter cold, and windy day of touring around Shawano County. The room also had a fold out sofa.
I love swimming and hot tubs, so when I saw the pool area at Shawano Four Seasons Resort I was really excited! Especially when the weather cools down outside, just getting to use a hot tub is like a vacation for me. Some days, I seriously wish I could book a hotel for a night just so I can use the hot tub.
I was busy exploring Shawano during the day, but didn’t miss my opportunity to relax in the hot tub at night. The pool area was empty while I was there, and there were Halloween decorations, and cool lighting surrounding the pool deck.
As I was walking around the pool I spotted a little room that had some arcade games in it. An employee was walking by and checked with me to see if I wanted the lights turned on for it, but I was just exploring so I didn’t. Looked fun though, if you like arcade games.
I also used the exercise room during my visit. I haven’t used a treadmill in ages… and have been meaning to give it a try so this was the perfect opportunity!
After touring around in Shawano all day, I realized I had forgotten to pack some toiletries so I figured I’d run into town to pick some stuff up and get some snacks. I was pretty excited when I realized how close the hotel was to a lot of shopping areas. It was only about a 2-3 minute drive to the Wal-Mart, and a small strip mall (which had a Dollar Tree). There were several restaurants nearby including Subway, and Perkins. I’m sure there’s a lot more nearby that I just didn’t get a chance to explore at the time.
The Shawano Four Seasons Resort also has a restaurant attached to it. Hotel guests got a 25% discount at breakfast (I think I heard lunch too?), so I checked out the restaurant the next morning.
I ordered the breakfast special that day, which was: 2 eggs, sausage, potato, and toast. Of course I started the day off with coffee too! All of that was only ~$4.50! (after the 25% discount) I was pretty impressed by the amount of food for the price. It was a nice breakfast and the waitress was very friendly. The restaurant wasn’t very busy when I went, but it was a week day. I enjoyed the atmosphere, and convenience of the restaurant being part of the hotel.
After eating breakfast, I spotted a bar/lounge area that is in the hotel between the restaurant and front lobby. Looked like a cool space.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Shawano Four Seasons Resort. Everyone was very friendly, and the location was fantastic. I would definitely stay there again in the future.
