Saved By The Max – Chicago, IL

I’m so excited!! (cue Jessie Spano)  This past weekend I finally was able to make it to the pop-up Saved by the Bell themed restaurant, “Saved By The Max” in Chicago, Illinois.  I remember watching SBTB re-runs after school every day, and didn’t care how many times I’d seen each episode, they never got old.  Lets face it, Bayside High was where it was at!

If you are a SBTB fan and haven’t made it to Saved by the Max yet, you still have time!  They are taking reservations through May 27th, 2017 on-line at this time.  Reservations were simple to make.

“Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?” (oooh Mr. Belding) Check out our meals & pics from dinner at Saved by the Max:

Right when you walk in the door, you are greeted with the Bayside lockers.  Zach & Jessie’s were open with props.

We had a table for 2 right by the famous blue door, and near the Arcade games.

The decorations were pretty awesome.  They had a section with KKTY, Baysides radio station, and a section that I didn’t get too good of a look at, but it was a chalkboard that I think had decorations from Miss Bliss’ classroom.  There were clips from SBTB playing on the TVs behind the bar, which were so funny to reminisce over.

As far as ordering goes, we had to pick all of our courses and beverages out and order at the same time.  This was cool though, because it made dinner run smoothly with little/no waiting time between courses.  Our waiter was awesome, and service was great.

There was SO much food, and it was excellent.  Here’s what we got: (The meal tickets we had each included an appetizer, entrée, dessert, and soft drink.  The cocktails were ordered separately)

Appetizers:

What we ordered:  “AC sliders” (top), “Snow White and the Seven Dorks” (bottom)

What we thought: We split the appetizers and both were delicious.  BUT, the AC Sliders were definitely our favorite!  (I’m sure we’d order those again next time)

Entrées:

What we ordered: Usually we order 2 different meals and split them to try more items… but “Leon’s Lobster Roll” caught both of our eyes.  This dinner choice wasn’t fully included in our reservation tickets (you could cancel your appetizer or your dessert, or pay an extra $4), but that was cool.  Everything sounded so good that we paid the extra, not thinking about how much food we were really ordering!  We had a lot of leftovers but they made a good lunch the next day.

What we thought: The entrée was different than I expected, but still very good.  I also had my eye on the Bayside Burger, so I’d probably give that a try next time.

Drinks: (shown above)

What we ordered: For our soft drink choice, we both got the rotating house made soft drinks (top right), which I believe was strawberry lemonade that day.  We also each ordered cocktails.  The Mark Paul 75 (top center), and the Tori Scott (just the edge of it is pictured behind the Mark Paul).

What we thought: We weren’t so big on the Tori Scott cocktail.  The Mark Paul 75 was good, but I’d probably mix it up and try something new next time or stick with the soft drink alone.

Desserts:

What we ordered: Max’s Magical Sweet Tooth (top picture), & the Snack Attack (bottom picture)

What we thought: Both desserts were good, but the Max’s Magical Sweet Tooth was both of our favorite!

We had such a great time!  So preppy, if you’re a big fan of Saved by the Bell, I highly recommend a visit to Saved by the Max before it leaves Chicago!
